Moving Still Life, a projection project shown in Melbourne and Sydney 1998-2004

This work occupied me from about 1998 to the mid 2000s. I sewed 2 litre milk bottles together, mostly by hand. The idea was to get away from the square on the wall, to embed the image in the projection surface and to take the projection surface out of the black space of the cinema. The surface became huge about 10 metres by 8 metres. When I came to Canberra I foolishly put it in the sun which broke down the ethylene plastic – so this work does not exist any more other than in small fragments. It was a strange and beautiful thing.
